A Visitor At The Door Current mood: annoyed <----- Photo by Cassandra Olander
A few minutes ago my doorbell rang. After wrestling to get my dog outside, I go to inspect. It's an older woman wearing a shimmering smile. . .I open the door.
"Hello," she says harmlessly. "I just want to give this to you. Have a nice day!" She walks away still carrying her sadistically, sweet smile. Now, I know that whatever is in my hand is not going to be something that I want to see. But curious, I gaze upon the pages.
"Stop Immoral Sex Now. God does not believe in gays or lesbians as they are not righteous creatures on this earth!" It went on, I'm sure, but I was no longer curious. Pages and pages of hatred in the name of God. Hatred directed at me. And I don't know how to feel. Part of me wants to find her and punch her in the face in the name of God. Part of me is just disgusted that this shit continues.
One would like to think that with all the violence and hatred already going on in this world, that love, no matter in what context, can be appreciated. . .But as I've just been reminded, unfortunately, it cannot. ~ Irish Dyke Photography by © cassandra olander 2006 |
