On Thursday morning’s Today Show, Madonna weighed in on the Donald Trump–Rosie O'Donnell–Barbara Walters feud.
"People are giving Rosie a hard time. I wish they'd stop, I don't think it's fair" Madonna told Today's Meredith Vieira in her interview, reports Monstersandcritics.com.
Madonna and O’Donnell have chummy since they starring together in Penny Marshall's A League of Their Own in 1992. "I don't know exactly the context of what she said," Madonna told Vieira, reports M&C. "I have to hear it from the horse's mouth. She's a standup comic. All standup comics talk about provocative things in their monologues before shows." The pop music icon’s appearance on the morning show was delayed because she arrived late, reports the Associated Press. When Vieira asked what took her so long, Madonna replied, "Hair." According to the AP, Madonna said that the reason she'd never done a live interview on Today before was because she didn't like "talking to people this early." "I saw my career flashing before my eyes when they said you weren't here," Vieira told Madonna, when the star hadn't arrived at the studio quite in time for the planned 8:35 a.m. spot, reports MSNBC. The original purpose of Madonna’s appearance was to promote her animated movie Arthur and the Invincibles where she provided the voice of Princess Seleni. M&C reports that she said she enjoyed her role co-starring along with the voices of Robert De Niro, Jimmy Fallon, David Bowie and Mia Farrow. M&C also reports that Madonna said she and Britney Spears have "drifted apart," joking, "we shared a kiss and I never saw her again. You see, that's how it goes in my life." Until next time! |
