Looks like Bobby Brown won’t be doing any ‘Humpin’ Around’ in the state of Massachusetts any time soon if he doesn’t take care of his parental responsibilities posthaste. When Bobby Brown failed to show up in court to testify about late child support payments totaling some $11,000, a family judge ordered the singer to be arrested if he ever again sets foot in the state of Massachusetts.
This is yet another blow for Brown whose superstar wife, Whitney Houston, filed for a legal separation from him last month in the state of California with the stated intention that full divorce proceedings would begin as soon as state law would allow. According to reports, Brown's attorney Phaedra Parks tried to justify the singer’s late child support payments by alluding to the “difficult time” he was going through as a result of his divorce but her words apparent fell flat in the Massachusetts court room as family judge Paula Carey pointed out that Mr. Brown's current problems did not excuse his older responsibilities. "If he comes into the state of Massachusetts, he will be arrested. Whether or not he's going through a divorce doesn't negate the fact that he still owes child support relative to his two children that he had prior to his marriage," the judge said. This is not the first time a warrant has been issued for Bobby Brown’s arrest as a result of his non payment of financial support for his two teenaged children, La Princia and Bobby Jr., both of whom were featured in his BRAVO reality television series Being Bobby Brown last season. In March 2004, Brown did an overnight in jail for his failure to make timely child support payments to former girlfriend Kim Ward and then just a few months later in June 2004, the singer was actually sentenced to 90 days in prison for missing three months of payments, but that sentence was subsequently suspended when Brown (or wife Whitney) made back payments in the amount of $15,000. While his estranged wife Whitney Houston is rumored to be in a rehabilitation facility in California plotting a major comeback with music maestro and RCA Chairman, Clive Davis, Brown’s whereabouts are unknown at the present time. I wonder if anybody checked Fed-Ex? Brown might have been there overnighting a check to the mother of his Boston-based offspring. C’mon… “Don’t be cruel” Would Bobby be that cruel to you? Until next time! |
