Sandra Oh’s former Grey’s Anatomy co-star (and on-screen lover) Isaiah Washington has been more miss than hit with the gay community lately—we just can’t get over the anti-gay slur he directed at out co-star T.R. Knight, it seems.
Oh, on the other hand, has developed a sizeable gay fanbase—and it’s about to get even more sizeable thanks to an upcoming gig being planned in her home country of Canada. According to CBC.ca , the official website of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the Golden Globe-winning actress is all set to host the June 23 season finale of CBC Radio One's Go, titled "The Gayest Music of All Time" in honor of the Gay Pride weekends going on all across North America. Although the show usually is taped live, Oh’s stint was pre-taped in order to accommodate her busy schedule. "She came in with her parents and had a ball taping it," Go producer David Carroll said in an article on CBC.ca. The show features a mix of music associated with gay culture, including Cher, Pet Shop Boys, Madonna and Judy Garland. Oh isn’t the show’s first guest host—Canadian broadcaster and playwright Lister Sinclair once hosted a show about the masters of disco and Canadian Opera Company artistic director Richard Bradshaw once hosted a show about popular classics of love.
