OutDistrictThe Editor-in-Chief of Men’s Fitness magazine aka “The Gay Man’s Bible” had a very interesting week according to an article in the famed Page Six gossip section of the New York Post.

Neal Boulton was seen “brashly embracing and kissing” fellow magazine mogul Jann Wenner, who owns Rolling Stone. Now, a mysterious illness has sent him to the hospital and former Sports Illustrated staffer, Roy S. Johnson is acting in his place.

Boulton, who is married with children, is more or less out at work and Wenner has been out since leaving his wife for Matt Nye in 1995, but the rumored relationship between the two publishing house big wigs is a new twist. Days after the news hit the page Boulton was hospitalized at St. Vincent’s hospital and apparently Wenner delivered flowers to help in his recuperation.

AMI chief David Becker brought in Johnson to oversee the magazine while Boulton is recovering, but there is speculation that perhaps Boulton’s recent publicity could cost him his job. Staff members at the popular fitness magazine seem to think that Johnson will be a permanent replacement according to RADAR online.

Men's Fitness, under the direction of Boulton, has become one of the best selling titles in the AMI family, and he still has a year left on his contract. So far, neither editor has confirmed or denied the relationship… and the world continues to turn.
